Mrs. Estela Valdez

Mrs. Valdez was born and raised in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. She earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Math and Computer Science) from the University of Texas at Dallas and an M.A. in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction: Technology from Grand Canyon University. She also holds a Catholic School Leadership Certificate from Creighton University, a Catholic School Certification from Villanova University, and has completed science training through the Perot STEM Teacher Institute in Dallas.

She is certified in Texas to teach Computer Systems and Spanish, is trained in Gifted and Talented Instruction, and is also a certified Nutritional Coach through the YMCA. In addition, she serves as a part-time adjunct instructor for Dallas College, teaching ESL. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Mrs. Valdez was recognized in 2021 as the Halo Initiative Educator of the Year by the Catholic Diocese of Dallas for her dedication to education through Christ. She has also been honored with two “Work of Heart Awards.”

Now entering her third year as Principal of St. Cecilia Catholic School, Mrs. Valdez looks forward to continuing to grow both professionally and spiritually. Her mission is to guide and inspire families and students to discover the joy of learning while working together on the path of raising both saints and scholars.

Mrs. Valdez and her husband are proud parents of three St. Cecilia graduates, who have continued their academic journeys at Townview TAG, SMU, and Yale. Outside of school, she enjoys training for marathons and triathlons, playing basketball, spending time outdoors, watching movies, reading, and listening to music.
