Mrs. Valdez was born and raised in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.

She received a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Math and Computer Science) from UTD in Richardson, Texas, and a M.A. in Education/Curriculum Instruction: Technology from Grand Canyon University. She has a certificate in science training from Perot STEM Teacher Institute in Dallas and holds a Catholic School Leadership Certificate through Creighton University.

She holds Texas teaching certifications in Computer Systems and Spanish. She is trained in Gifted and Talented Instruction, and Nutritional Coaching through the YMCA. She is currently working as a part-time adjunct instructor for the Dallas Community College teaching ESL. She has taught for over 20 years. In 2021 she was recognized as the Halo Initiative, Educator of the Year by the Catholic Diocese of Dallas for her dedicated service to bettering education through Christ.

This year, Mrs. Valdez looks forward to growing professionally and spiritually and becoming an even better leader and teacher. She will be teaching third-grade religion, coordinating STEM activities and direction, serving as the network administrator, and administrating as the Assistant Principal. She hopes to be able to guide and motivate families and students to enjoy education as much as she does.

Mrs. Valdez is married and has three kids, all of whom graduated from St. Cecilia. During her free time, Mrs. Valdez enjoys training for marathons and triathlons, playing basketball, going to the movies, listening to music, and reading.
