Girl Scouts Bridge to "Senior"
On the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge... March 24... pictured here with "Juillet Daisy Low" and troop leader Monica Alonzo.
Five of our Troop 115 bridged to "Senior" to mark their upcoming entrance to high school. Pictured left to right are Cécile Leclerc, Victoria Villarreal, Saphire Cervantes, Estrella Salazar, and Jordin Guzman.
The other six members of troop 115 were a year away from bridging, but all worked on their Silver Awards which were awarded in May 2012.

What are we doing now? Going for GOLD!
Our troop consists of high school 2016 graduates and rising seniors. Two of our graduates have completed their gold awards - Jordin Guzman and Cécile Leclerc. You may read about their projects using the links to the left. The remaining graduates have until the end of September to complete their projects and we will be concentrating on those over the summer. Our rising seniors will benefit from completing their Gold Awards over the summer as well... so we are hoping all our scouts will concentrate on their projects this summer. We'd love to have 100% completion rate!
Our troop performed two different Silver award projects with various girls working on each. Silver is the highest award a Cadette can earn.
The first project Respect the Flag: RESPECT IT! is by three of scouts and honors the flag by sewing flag ceremony red sashes and making kits with instruction cards to outfit troops they train to perform perform flag retirement ceremonies. We also presented during two public (non-Girl Scout) events.
The second project Every Girl Deserves a BullsEYE! is by the remaining 7 scouts who have been trained as archery range assistants and have taught other Girl Scouts archery, helped them earn their archery patches, and worked at a non-Girl Scout State Archery professional tournament.
Who can join our troop: This troop includes 11th/12th graders. Girls need not attend St. Cecilia School, nor do they need to be Catholic or parishioners of St. Cecilia, and are allowed to join throughout the year. Our troop members are working on their Gold Awards and are our 12th graders are preparing for graduation.
We meet at various times, usually associated with an event we are participating in.
Meeting place: will vary depending on the event.
Uniforms: Girl Scouts has enacted a new guideline. As of October 2008, an official sash or vest worn with white shirt and khaki pants or skirts is required when girls participate in ceremonies or officially represent The Girl Scout Movement.
