I was born in Houston, Texas and am one of 8 children. I entered the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur in August of 1963. I started teaching kindergarten in 1968 at OLV School in Ft. Worth. And I have taught 7th and 8th grade Religion at Nolan High School as well as 5th grade in Dickinson, TX. I went to Dominican College in Houston,TX and graduated in 1975 with a BA in Elementary Education, English with Early Childhood Certification. I went on to teach in Houston and Ft. Worth before going to St. Cecilia in 1984 where I taught Kindergarten for 5 years and then PK-4 for 25 years.
After I retired in 2014, I moved to the mother house of the Sisters of St. Mary, in Ft. Worth, where I live today. I now drive the Sisters to places they need to go. I also do a lot of shopping for them and for things needed for the kitchen and the house.

I retired from St. Cecilia School after teaching eleven years in fourth grade. My experiences at St. Cecilia were so outstanding because of the students’ eagerness to learn, the supportive families, and the encouraging professional community at this school.
