• In 1935, the Sisters of St. Mary of Namur founded St. Cecilia Catholic School. We are located in the heart of the Bishop Arts District, just minutes from downtown Dallas.

We have been in our current building since 1954. In addition to our classrooms for grades K-8, we have dedicated spaces for art, music, technology, and science, as well as a large gymnasium and performance stage, spacious Pre-K rooms perfect for early learners, a cozy library, and a serene Grotto.

With our Motto, To Serve as Jesus Did, students are reminded daily of the behavior expected of them. With Jesus as our role model and guide, children are encourages to live and follow Christ's example of service.

  • The mission of Saint Cecilia Catholic School is to educate students in a strong Catholic, Christ-centered environment and to enable them to grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically.

We strive to cultivate intelligence, provide a sense of values, and ready the students for further education in an atmosphere of service to the community. Each morning, our day begins with a prayer service that ends with the Pledge of Allegiance. St. Cecilia Catholic School is a community in pursuit of the following goals:

    • Individual Attention and Academic Excellence

    • Spiritual Growth where every individual discovers the importance of the Christian faith in their lives

    • Artistic and Physical Development where every individual is challenged and inspired

    • Emotional Support where every individual is valued and respected

  • St. Cecilia Catholic Church was founded in 1933. The original church building was dedicated in 1949.

On August 17, 2007, a lightning strike started a fire that destroyed the church building. That winter, a rebuilding campaign began.

On November 22, 2009, Bishop Kevin Farrell hosted the ground-breaking ceremony for the new church.

In November of 2011, the new church building was dedicated.

Miraculously, the only relic not seriously damaged in the fire, was the original statue of the martyred St. Cecilia.
